Overview

Seijaku is a premium matcha brand inspired by Japanese tranquillity, mindful living, and the art of slowing down. The project involved developing a brand identity rooted in serenity and simplicity, translating the philosophy of mindful rituals into a refined visual experience.

Brand Personality

Seijaku's personality is defined by four traits: serene, minimal, authentic, and sophisticated. The brand celebrates the beauty of simplicity, encouraging people to embrace mindful moments through the ritual of preparing and enjoying matcha.

Brand Voice

Calm, thoughtful, and inviting. Seijaku communicates with understated elegance, using simple yet meaningful language to evoke a sense of peace and mindfulness. Every interaction should feel intentional, creating an emotional connection with an audience that values quality, authenticity, and balance.

Color Palette

The colour palette draws inspiration from nature and traditional Japanese tea culture. Matcha-inspired greens evoke freshness and authenticity, while neutral tones create a sense of warmth, balance, and simplicity. Together, the colours establish a refined visual language that reflects the brand's philosophy of tranquillity.

Deliverables

Brand strategy, brand positioning, brand personality and voice, visual identity, logo design, colour palette, typography system, packaging design, and brand mockups.

The Brief

The challenge was to create a premium matcha brand that captures the essence of Japanese tea culture while appealing to a contemporary, design-conscious audience. The identity needed to communicate authenticity, tranquillity, and sophistication, positioning matcha as more than a beverage as a daily ritual for finding calm in a fast-paced world.

Brand Philosophy

Seijaku is built around the idea that tranquillity can be found in the smallest moments. Inspired by the Japanese concept of stillness, the brand encourages people to pause, reconnect with themselves, and find balance through everyday rituals. Its guiding philosophy is captured in the tagline: “A cup of serenity.”

Let's Talk

I'm most energized by projects where I can dig into complex problems, collaborate with smart people, and ship things that genuinely improve someone's day.
